Why use SOS Elder Care versus a regular agency?
Simply put, it's a matter of cost. A referral agency does not have the overhead that a regular agency does; therefore, SOS provides the same services (and more) than an employee based agency at a much lower cost to our clients. This allows us to devote our resources to ensuring that our clients receive quality service, rather than wasting resources on unnecessary business expenses.
How Our Agency Works
SOS Elder Care is a Referral Agency; our agency is similar to an employment agency, in that our Caregivers are not our employees, they are on a registry. After careful screening, our Caregivers are sent to a client's home, the Client then interviews the Caregiver, and if chosen, the Caregiver then provides Home Health services as an "Independent Contractor".
In addition, SOS Elder Care enters into an agreement with our clients to provide personnel management and oversight services on a month-to-month basis, to ensure that our clients continue to receive quality in-home care from our Caregivers.
Our management and oversight services include, but may not be limited to; on-site visits, scheduling, replacement, termination/removal, discipline, or any other personnel related services that we can reasonably provide to ensure that our clients/patients receive worry free in-home care services. We guarantee that our agency staff will be available 24/7 to handle any after hour emergencies.
Caregiver Qualifications
When caregivers apply to our agency, we first screen their application to ensure that they have previous experience providing care to the elderly.
Our Caregivers are required to have previous experience providing, bed care, incontinence care, wheelchair transfers etc., including experience providing care to Alzheimer's and Stroke patients.
After the initial screening an interview/orientation session is conducted with the caregiver so that we may further assess the caregiver's qualifications. We do this to determine whether the caregiver has the right personality, temperament, and dedication our clients expect from SOS Elder Care.
This interview/orientation process usually takes about (2) hours. The interview/orientation continues until our agency is confident that the caregiver will provide the highest quality of care to our clients.
After the interview/orientation process; caregivers are subjected to an extensive background investigation that thoroughly examines areas of their personal history including but not limited to; their previous employment, training, co-worker relations, reliability, attendance, etc.
